Resident String Quartet Member’s Obligations

As a member of the Fellowship Resident String Quartet in addition to your chamber music repertoire, your duties and responsibilities will be the following:

1) To learn, play and record EAMA student composers string quartets (12-15 works  between 3-5 minutes each);

i) This will involve organizing sufficient rehearsal time as a group;
ii) Meeting with each composer for 20 min prior to the workshop to play and discuss the student work. These meetings will be organized by our administrative director;

2) To read and record all the composers’ string quartet works during a public workshop towards the end of the program.

In addition:

1. You will perform 1 reading session for the conductors (possibly as a string quintet with a hired double bassist);

For this session, you will read standard repertoire. Rehearsing for this is not required.

2. You also agree to give 3 house concerts/fundraisers during the 2026-27 season to further promote the program.
