EAMA’s Composition Workshops are a unique feature of our program. Each workshop is a laboratory where excellent musicians perform students works. The EAMA composition faculty along with these artists critique, suggest, and try out possible changes in real time.
Unlike at many festivals, where works are simply read on the day of the masterclass, at EAMA our performers will rehearse each work prior to the workshop.
Composers will also have a scheduled time to coach with the musicians prior to the workshops.
These workshops offer a rare opportunity to hear your work and immediately assess how suggested changes can have significant impact on your music.
The Art Song Workshop: Selected songs will be performed by soprano Rebecca Myers and a professional pianist.
The EAMA String Quartet Workshop: Selected works will be read by our resident String Quartet made up of students from The Juilliard School.
“I have grown as a musician. The workshop really helped my learning experience this summer.”
